Greer

We just got back from the most wonderful trip to our family cabin in Greer, AZ

We took our good friends Heather, Steve, and their kids Jarom, Elise, and Halle.

We will miss you guys so much when you leave us for Nebraska!!
Just stay...who needs a job, right?

Greer is gorgeous, and thankfully was not affected by
the Wallow Fire that burned over 400,000 acres here in AZ.
In fact, it was so green and lush you couldn't even tell
there had been a fire a mere 3 miles away!

We saw the most beautiful rainbow over the tops of the trees...
we are so grateful for this Beautiful Earth!

Jackson absolutely loved the great outdoors

And any chance he got he was down that road exploring nature!

We enjoyed a hike to the top of the mountain ridge

Make sure you notice how Steve and Heather are carrying their children...Super Parents!

Miracle of the day: getting all three kids to look at the camera at the same time!

We played hard on the zip line.
And despite the fact that it was handmade probably 30 + years ago we all survived.
Phew.

And no trip to Greer is complete without a ride
on the infamous tree swing!

Or a ride on the red swing,
or 'swing of death' as I like to call it.

And the boys just had to try their luck at fishing.

...but apparently fish don't like rice crispy treats...

We also competed in a friendly baseball game with our third cousins once removed
- or something like that.
I was relieved that I actually hit the wiffle ball...
I was the one who had to use the tee when I was 10!

And of course we hung out by the fire.
But this was not just any fire...this was Jackson's first campfire!

And when we couldn't find any sticks to roast our hot dogs on...we improvised.

But mainly we relaxed and had fun being with friends.
The Hammock was the coveted seat of choice.

Isn't Elise the cutest little girl ever? I love her smile.

And to my sweet, dear friend Heather -I will miss you so much!
Thank you for being the best Sister Supreme ever!!!

Last but not least, we were so grateful to see the tree we planted in Trent's Grandma Sherry's honor.

Grandma Sherry was truly an elect lady, and we all miss her very much.
We planted this tree in her honor back in 2008 and it's been fun to watch it slowly grow.

We had a wonderful time in Greer!!!
It's sad to think this is most likely the last time we will be there for a while...

That is so neat you got to go there with your friends. I am so glad you survived the zip line! I don't think I have dared it since I was about 10!! What a miracle that it didn't burn. So glad to see the gorgeous pictures!

Pretty sure you were there with PJ's Aunt Sheila, and family. We went there a couple of years ago for a family reunion. It is gorgeous there. I love that we are somehow semi related :)
